Lefse, Hockey, and Coffee

I am writing this post from my phone so I apologize for its brevity. Thursday I got together with Duke and we exchanged presents. I got him a wallet and some movie coupon and he got me a jacket, wild shirt, and wild hat.(Wild is the MN hockey team in case you didn’t know) Part 2 of his gift is he is going to take me to a Wild game. Just the two of us, best present ever. But he had to leave pretty early because his parents were getting suspicious of him.

Later that night I hung out with Alec (Al) he’s using his real name now, not that it changed much… We went to one of his choir gigs with some friends then we went to our schools hockey game so we could watch Al’s crush/interest play hockey. And we also made that video that is in my last post.

Yesterday, my family made Lefse, a family tradition at least 40 years old. For those of you who don’t know what it is, Lefse is a scandinavian potato crepe that you butter and put a generous amount of brown sugar on, then you roll it up. It’s potato-y, sweet, buttery and reminds me of Christmas. Here are some pics: 🙂

Later that day I was wearing a sweatshirt Duke had given me and my 14 year old sister asked who’s it was. It ate away at me that she didn’t know why I had his sweatshirt and why he keeps coming over. Yesterday night I took my sister out for coffee. On the ride I just blurted it out. “I’m gay” She looked at me and said “It’s Ok with me Andrew, I still love you.” She actually knew I was gay earlier when she read my essay that I left open on the computer but she still seemed surprised. We talked it out, she asked a few questions, she asked about Duke. She said I picked a good one 🙂 Overall it was a good night, now my whole family knows and I can stop hiding Duke when he comes over.

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas I’ll probably post after Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
